Isabella “Isa” Borgeson is a queer, mixed race, filipino american poet and community organizer from Oakland. She has received fellowships from Voices of Our Nation Art Foundation, Crescendo Literary’s Poetry Incubator, and AIR Serenbe’s Spoken Word Artist with a commitment to Community and Collaboration (SWACC!). In 2020, Isa was named a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellow. Their poetry is influenced by their years organizing in the aftermath of super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. At Mesa, Isa worked on a manuscript about the impact of climate change on their homelands—documenting resistance from Oakland to Tanauan.
